Can I make this happen?

I've asked myself this since I decided to start this little project. Can I really make anything of this or is it a stupid attempt. I guess you never know unless you really try and what have I got to loose? I am using all free services for the time being to start this. If nothing comes of it I have lost nothing but spare time, which to some may be precious. 

Honestly I hope something comes of this but after a few days into this project I do not know which direction I should take all this in haha.

What is the Potato list? Pt2

So why am I doing this site? I am guilty of something that I know most people are too. When you take a photograph and something is wrong with it that you decide never to show anyone. But even among these abandoned photos are some great pictures.

I remember going through old photo albums of my family and you would see all sorts of things. Bright read devil eyes? Check......Finger across half the picture? Check....... Nana Joan closed her eyes during that important wedding photo....? Check..... I want a site full of these kind of photos which some may think are a bad photograph but in actuality is still a loving memory of days gone by.

I understand that with the invention of digital cameras and camera phones that the surprise of a bad photo is gone. No longer do we drop off a film and hope that the picture comes out right. But lets not forget about that past. Even though when you snap a picture on your potato or camera then please just accept it as it is. Upload it or send it to us and we will upload it and lets love these imperfect pictures just as much as the staged ones with the meticulous planning.

The Potato Empire coming together.

So I spent most of yesterday creating the handful of social media sites for the potato list. All in all so far we have got a facebook page, a twitter, this blog and an instagram. I am not really aware of where else I can really create a social media presence. So i heard over to Google+ even though its a really quiet social media outlet? Or do I stick with what I got, keep it small for now and work to create a presence with these tools.

I think for now I will wait. I do not want to overwork myself and get annoyed with this project. So far the Facebook page has 7 likes. Each of which is a friend but it is a start in the right direction. :)

What is The Potato List?

What is The Potato List? This question is one that I hope I get to answer a lot in the future from many many fans. Right now, I am 1 man with 1 page and no followers. The Potato List is part of a social media experiment to see if I can create a brand and a presence with a very simple idea.

So what is it? The Potato List is a site about taking photos on your cellphone. Or in my case, my cell phone. Today, people like to think that by applying a filter or by using an expensive camera they are considered a photographer.

I'm not going to make any assumptions like that. I will take pure vanilla potato goodness. No editing, no filters. Just as they come. On the instagram I set up for this I already got a blurry one hiding among the photos I have uploaded.

Also, I live in Japan so I think I may get the chance to take some unique photos. Today most people have access to a potato cameraphone in some form or other. So why not make a brand out of it. So with that I am also going to make some # tags.
